{"id":1319,"date":"2018-05-08T14:17:05","date_gmt":"2018-05-08T14:17:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/groups.tecnico.ulisboa.pt\/~larsys.daemon\/?page_id=1319"},"modified":"2018-07-18T15:13:15","modified_gmt":"2018-07-18T15:13:15","slug":"dynamic-systems-and-ocean-robotics","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/groups.tecnico.ulisboa.pt\/~larsys.daemon\/dynamic-systems-and-ocean-robotics\/","title":{"rendered":"Dynamic Systems and Ocean Robotics (DSORg)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dsor.isr.ist.utl.pt\">Dynamic Systems and Ocean Robotics (DSORg)<\/a> research is focused on dynamic systems and ocean robotics in a twofold way:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to pursue the study of a number of challenging theoretical problems in the areas of dynamical systems theory and networked estimation \/control with applications to the design of advanced single and cooperative motion planning, control, and navigation systems for autonomous air and marine vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0to exploit the theoretical methodologies developed and to transition from the laboratory to the real word using in-house\u00a0developed\u00a0vehicles and systems as a means to contribute to the development of faster, cheaper, and far more efficient tools than those available\u00a0today for ocean exploration and exploitation and critical infrastructure monitoring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The tools include surface and underwater robots and related systems, as well as aerial vehicles working as communication relays,redirecting\u00a0the operations of marine vehicles upon detection of relevant episodic events, and inspecting critical infrastructures. In the\u00a0past, identical goals have motivated the definition of a research and development program addressing theoretical and practical\u00a0engineering topics, as well as issues that are at the crossroads of marine science and technology. This program is at the root of the\u00a0cooperative research and development work that has been driving the objectives of the group and will continue to be the main focus\u00a0of our research effort in the near future.
