These efforts are in accordance with the priorities set in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fct.pt\/agendastematicas\/docs\/Agenda_Saude_Investigacao_Clinica_e_de_Translacao_Versao_Finalizacao.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">preliminary version of the Thematic Agenda for Research and Innovation in Health, Clinical Research and Translation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, namely in the topic \u201cDigital Health and Medical Technologies\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Project <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/welcome.isr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt\/projects\/multimodal-neuroimaging-biomarkers-throughout-the-migraine-cycle-towards-neurofeedback-training-for-personalized-anti-migraine-treatment\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MIG_N2Treat<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (collaboration with Hospital da Luz and IMM &#8211; Institute for Molecular Medicine) identified multimodal neuroimaging biomarkers of migraine and used them to develop a novel personalized therapeutic approach based on neurofeedback training. Collaborative work with i3S (Instituto de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e Inova\u00e7\u00e3o em Sa\u00fade), funded by FCT (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/welcome.isr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt\/projects\/tracing-gastric-cancer-using-quantitative-bioimaging-analysis\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trace<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/welcome.isr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt\/projects\/sensing-dysfunctional-e-cadherin-cells-in-gastric-epithelia\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sense<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/welcome.isr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt\/projects\/mechano-dependent-capture-of-circulating-tumour-cells-a-cell-ecm-based-approach-coupled-with-cancer-specific-glycomarkers\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Capture<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and American Association of Patients with Gastric Cancer (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nostomachforcancer.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No Stomach for Cancer<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) developed new bioimaging processing tools for gastric cancer diagnosis, now included in the guidelines for hereditary gastric cancer published in<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelancet.com\/journals\/lanonc\/article\/PIIS1470-2045(20)30219-9\/fulltext\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Lancet Oncology<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the scope of the COVID-19 outbreak, LARSyS have been very active in finding solutions to help the health services and public services in general. Namely, LARSyS has had five successful submissions to the FCT <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fct.pt\/apoios\/research4covid19\/edicao_1\/index.phtml.en\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Science4Covid<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> calls. The first was project e-CoVig &#8211; Automatic system for remote surveillance of COVID-19 symptoms, a partnership between R&amp;D institutions (ISR\/LARSyS\/IST, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.it.pt\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IT\/IST &#8211; Institute for Telecommunications<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicina.ulisboa.pt\/en\/node\/513\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cardiovascular Center\/Faculty of Medicine\/University of Lisbon<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.estescoimbra.pt\/en\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ESTSC &#8211; School of Health Technologies of Coimbra<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an SME (Brain Answer Lda.) and the SNS (Servi\u00e7os Partilhados do Minist\u00e9rio da Sa\u00fade, Hospital de Santa Maria and Hospital Pulido Valente). This project will be extended by a new funding from H2020 (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/welcome.isr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt\/projects\/avaliacao-remota-em-telemedicina-do-covid-19\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ReATeC<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LARSyS researchers are also engaged in a project aimed to keep the control and monitoring of COVID-19 patients and people with risky contacts or traveling from regions with communitary transmission of COVID-19, supporting the economic return to normality. Currently, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/madeirasafe.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Madeira Safe to Discover App<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> supports the Health Security operation at Madeira airports, accounting for about 160k users since 1st July 2020. This information system allowed opening Madeira as a tourist destination, recognized by the mass media and tourist operators as a safe destination.
