PYFF6 - 6th Conference on Physiology of Yeasts and Filamentous Fungi
July 11-14, 2016, Lisbon, Portugal
Instituto Superior Técnico - Alameda Campus
University of Lisbon

Introduction

The PYFF conferences are unique in bringing together, every 3 years, researchers interested in the physiology of yeasts and filamentous fungi, under the auspices of the EFB Microbial Physiology Section. After the success of the five previous meetings in Middelfart (2001), Anglet (2004), Helsinki (2007), Rotterdam (2010), and Montpelier (2013), the Portuguese community dedicated to the this topic is looking forward to receiving you in Lisbon, from the 11th to the 14th of July 2016, for PYFF6.

PYFF6 will be hosted by Instituto Superior Técnico, the engineering, science and technology school of the University of Lisbon, and will take place at the Alameda campus of this university, located right in the city centre. Lisbon is the most western of Europe's capital cities and one of the most visited cities in the world, offering a cosmopolitan environment, where ancient neighborhoods meet modern life style. Founded more than 2000 years ago, Lisbon is further a cultural, financial and academic centre, aspects of this city that the participants will have the opportunity to enjoy.

An exciting event is being planned focused on the modern genome-wide approaches that are unveiling fascinating aspects of the physiology of yeasts and filamentous fungi, boosting the understanding of these systems, envisaging their application in biotechnology or the control of their pathogenic activity. Young researchers are specifically encouraged to participate, to present their data and to exchange ideas during the conference. With the support of the Scientific Committee composed of renowned experts in the Physiology of Yeasts and Filamentous Fungi and of the highly active international community working in the field, the Organizing Committee is committed to organize a successful and productive conference that contributes to reinforce or to initiate collaborative links between researchers in academia, industry, and the clinic, and show the vitality of their research and what’s new in area of physiological genomics of yeasts and filamentous fungi and on how it can be applied.

Submission of abstracts for poster presentation and registration in the meeting is still open till May the 21st. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in this exciting event!
